Yes, yes, yes! We have upped our jamming game for 2020! Jams are moving to Florence Events Center this year, beginning on Friday, January 24, 2020, at 1:00 PM. The jamming room is located immediately to the left of the front entrance.  Jamming in this room is allowed any time other than when workshops are being conducted. Jamming is allowed in the same location on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The Friday and Saturday jams end at midnight each day; the Sunday jam ends at 4:00 PM. Thanks, in advance, for respecting our need to close the facility at midnight.

Where are the events located in the FEC?

Shows are held in the FEC theater.  Click here for the FEC floor plan (http://www.eventcenter.org/general/page/floor-plans). Click here for the theater seating chart (http://www.eventcenter.org/general/page/florence-events-center-theatre).  Workshops are held in Room 1 on the flat floor, the room located just inside of the facility’s front doors on the left side.

Where do I park and how much does it cost?

Parking at the FEC is free.  Adjacent street parking is available for overflow parking.

How long does the Florence Winter Music Festival last?

A Florence WMF weekend is 3 days long. People begin gathering for the weekend as early as Thursday and some stay through Monday. For those with not quite as much time or devotion, single day ticket options are readily available. The first show begins at 7:00 PM on Friday, Saturday at 1:00 PM, and at 1:00 PM on Sunday.  The festival ends in the late afternoon on Sunday.  The Winter Arts Festival, free and open to the public, opens at 10:00 AM on Saturday and closes Sunday afternoon.  Saturday’s pie sale begins at 11:00 AM and lasts until the last slice is enjoyed.

What times are the shows?

Show times are fixed, as noted below.  There is a 30-minutes break between each show. Plan to browse the Arts Festival, have a piece of pie, enjoy sumptuous food choices from the food trucks and the on-site caterer, and come on back for more great music.

Friday: Shows begin at 7 PM

Saturday:  Shows run from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and from 7:00 PM to 9:45 PM

Sunday: Shows start at 1:00 PM and end no later than 3:30 PM.

What type of music is played at the Festival?

Styles of music at the Florence WMF include bluegrass, Americana, singer-songwriter and folk.  Jam sessions are sure to reflect this diversity of styles with young and old alike participating.  Don’t leave home without your instrument!

Are workshops available and do they cost extra?

Yes, the big news is that three workshops will be offered for 2020, as listed below.  Bring your instruments and get ready to learn from touring professionals!

Note:  All workshops will be held in Room 1 at the FEC.

Saturday, January 25, 2020-- Learn to jam Bluegrass style with Annie Savage of the Greg Blake Band from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Standard folk and bluegrass instruments only, please.

From 10:30 AM to noon, guitar legend Jim Hurst will conduct a multifaceted guitar workshop, including rhythm playing and lead/melody playing.

Sunday, January 26, 2020– Songwriting legends Kristen Grainger and Dan Wetzel of True North fame tackle the mysterious art of songwriting.  Bring your ideas and expect to be put through your paces as you craft the next hit song.  This workshop begins at 10:30 AM and ends at noon!

Do I have to buy additional tickets to see certain shows?

Your weekend pass (3-Day Pass) gets you into ALL shows.  Your 2-Day Pass is good for all shows EXCEPT the Folk show on Sunday.  Single day tickets also are available for Friday Night Bluegrass, Saturday Afternoon Americana, Saturday Night Headliners, and the Sunday Folk.  Please remember that if you plan to only attend the events on Saturday, a separate ticket is required for Saturday afternoon and another ticket for the Saturday night shows.

Access to the Florence Regional Arts Alliance Winter Arts Festival, the pie sale, and jams is free to all!  Come and enjoy!

What is the seating policy?

Seating for Friday and Saturday night shows is reserved; all other seating is general admission.  Seating choices are made at the time of your ticket purchase, whether online, on the phone, or at the box office.

What is your refund policy?

The Florence WMF does not issue refunds. Exceptions, of course, are made for medical or family emergencies.

I've never been to Florence before. Where can I get information on the city?

When planning your trip to the Florence WMF this year, the best place to find information about all things Florence is at www.florencechamber.com.  As the City of Florence’s premier online address, this is your definitive city guide for What to Do, Where to Go, What's New and What's Happening in and around town.

I'm planning on coming in my RV. Is there an RV park nearby?

The Oregon Coast is a mecca for the recreational vehicle enthusiast, and Florence is no exception.  RV parking in and around Florence is plentiful, affordable, and convenient and daily rates begin at $36.  A quick online search will give you the options you want.

Are there any good restaurants in the area?

In addition to on-site catering and food trucks at the FEC, there are many restaurants within a short drive from the FEC.  The FEC is close to dining and shopping on Bay Street, the city’s historic downtown.  It’s only a few more blocks to Highway 101, home to more restaurants and several grocery stores.  This is our recommended dining list.  While it may be added to, these are the folks who have agreed to tangibly support the festival in one way or another.
